Project Natal
Jun 10th, 2009
For those who missed the announcement, it seems that XBox is exploring new ideas for game controllers: humans are the controller. Project Natal puts you in the place of the controller, your movement allows you interact with the game system. I really like this concept but I wonder how practical it will be when I have 8 friends huddled around the TV and some playing, some not, all making gestures. I hope to see this in action at some point and I am very curious how this type of interface will be used in conjunction with other interfaces such as combining Project Natal technology with g-Speak. If we can just get the hand and finger gestures mapped we could type in air and never need a keyboard again… maybe. Minority report here we come.
