The UX Tribe: many campfires, one village

The UX Tribe: many campfires, one village
Feb 27th, 2009

I believe we’re all part of the same tribe, living in the same village — but we happen to gather and tell our stories around different camp-fires.

— Andrew Hinton, The UX Tribe

This quote comes from the same man who said job titles are bullshit and frankly I couldn’t agree more.  I don’t think information architecture is at all the same as interaction design, one is about strategy and structure the other is about design and interactions.  That said, it really doesn’t matter, we’re all part of the same group at large and we’re all aiming for the same thing; design (be it strategy, structural, interaction, or visual design) and putting the user’s needs first.  Anyway, well said Andrew.  Go check out his post The UX Tribe if you haven’t already.
