Expert Review
Frontier Airlines

An Expert Review (sometimes referred to as a "heuristic review") is a inspection technique aimed at identifying likely information architecture and usability issues with an interface or product, without undertaking a full-scale usability test. An expert review will often involve an assessment against a set of information architecture and usability heuristics (guidelines). Many of the heuristics that are easily available relate more to interactive systems than information systems and are based on human cognition.
In Febuary of 2005 Campbell-Ewald asked me if I would be interested in conducting an expert review for the Frontier Airlines web site. Following a analysis of the competative landscape I reviewed the site for various aspects including system functionality, graphical user interface & navigational systems, nomenclature & content, design & iconography, page architecture & layout, as well as system interaction. From there I created a presentation document document which identified what is currently working well, what needs to be improved and the next steps to take to resolve any existing problems.
