PBS
Web Site Development

In April of 2003, Jeff Veen from Adaptive Path approached me with a web development project. The client was PBS and they needed Adaptive Path to create a pilot site using the newly created base template to see if it would work in action. Adaptive Path, being a more UX and IA shop, asked me to help with the implementation of the site.
On the left you will see two styles, the brown one is the prototype, the blue and red one is the pilot site. The general goal was to get all of the affiliate radio stations to use one global template with their own brand and identity. The concept is that the user will be able to navigate the affiliate sites more effectively if they are all consistent.
The CSS and base template were already created, it was just a matter of changing the color scheme, logo, content and links. Within a day or so I was able to create a totally new looking site without changing any markup, just the content itself. This was mostly because of how the CSS was designed for use within the XHTML template.
